Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

To know occurrence of main construction raw materials in Czech republic, including main characteristics of their most important deposits. To have general knowledge about basic exploitation procedures and processing of construction raw materials. To know basic characteristics of construction raw materials. To know design a suitable material to production of building materials or in defined construction.

Summary

Cílem předmětu je seznámit studenty se současným stavem v surovinové základně stavebního průmyslu v České republice. V rámci předmětu budou probírány hlavní suroviny pro výrobu stavebních hmot (přírodní kámen, kamenivo, suroviny pro výrobu pojiv a maltovin, suroviny pro keramickou výrobu na bázi jílových surovin, suroviny pro výrobu skla a tavených hornin). Zdůrazněny budou požadavky na kvalitu těžených surovin a způsoby úpravy stavebních surovin a využití jednotlivých surovin v praxi.

Subject syllabus:

• Distribution of rocks according their origin (igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks) – classifications, main types, technically important properties. • Review about basic types of non-ore construction materials deposits (especially of stone, aggregate, materials to binder production and ceramic and glass raw materials) in Czech republic. • Processing of construction raw materials. • Basic properties of construction raw materials. • Utilisation of the most important construction raw materials in practice. • Standards and regulations for each construction raw material.
