Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Aim is to inform students with the field of transportation engineering problems processing and assessing the impact of highway construction on the environment. Students will learn how to assess individual impacts and their effects, learn the ways of categorizing and collecting the various impacts on the basis of the analysis.

Summary

Subject introduces in detail the process of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA / SEA), as are methods of assess potential magnitude and significance of impacts, the process of screening, scoping process, evaluating the extent and significance of impacts on selected environmental components. Describes methodology for document processing (cross-assignment, input data source and accuracy of data, description of the building, the definition of the area, the establishment of municipalities in the assessment process, a variant of the construction, assessment of expected impacts, etc.) and report to the documentation life cycle impact assessment (purpose and objective assessment, methodological principles, the draft opinion), incl. Public hearing opinion.

Other requirements

At least 70% attendance at the exercises. Absence, up to a maximum of 30%, must be excused and the apology must be accepted by the teacher (the teacher decides to recognize the reason for the excuse). Requirements can be specified and supplemented by the teacher at the beginning of the semester. Tasks assigned on the exercises must be hand in within the dates set by the teacher.
