Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The main aim is to clarify the basic principles of quality control in engineering practice based on the identification of processes and systems of various design phases in relation to the renovation of Brownfield.

Other requirements
Student has to elaborate seminar paper during the course. At this seminar paper student makes a quality plan of chosen building technology in relation to the issue of revitalization of Brownfield. The student vindicates the results of the seminar paper within the examination of the subject.
At least 70% attendance at the exercises.
Absence, up to a maximum of 30%, must be excused and the apology must be accepted by the teacher (the teacher decides to recognize the reason for the excuse).
Requirements can be specified and supplemented by the teacher at the beginning of the semester.

Subject syllabus:
1. Building Act, the definition of construction, development of requirements for the construction and functional parts, regulated requirements for buildings.
2. Quality and reliability of building constructions.
3. Processes and systems in building industry, process control options in preparation, construction and service phase of buildings.
4. Building surveys.
5. Introduction to building testing.
6. Destructive and non-destructive testing methods, specified tests, metrology.
7. Building survey, survey methodology, degradation of buildings, static and dynamic load tests.
8. Creation of quality management systems in a building company, comprehensive quality management, certification of products.
9. Assessing methods of processes and systems, economic quality aspects.
10. Risk management and prevention.
11. Sustainable development of construction. Summary of topics.
