The aim of the course is to introduce the issue of advanced concrete technology. The main intention of the course is more detailed introduction to problems of durability of concrete, high performance concrete, alternative concrete and of the trend of modification of the concrete so that it became interesting in terms of sustainable development.

Summary
The aim of the course is to introduce the issue of advanced concrete technology. At least 70% attendance at the exercises. Absence, up to a maximum of 30%, must be excused and the apology must be accepted by the teacher (the teacher decides to recognize the reason).
Tasks assigned on the exercises must be hand in within the dates set by the teacher.

Subject syllabus:
1. History of binder usage, binder distribution.
2. Basic terms and cement hydration.
3. Bermuda triangle of concrete (shrinkage - strength - temperature).
4. Concretes using mineral admixtures.
5. Specifics of high-performance concrete.
6. Durability of concrete I.
7. Durability of concrete II.
8. Alternative binders I.
9. Alternative binders II.
10. Special properties of concrete (modulus of elasticity, fracture behavior, fatigue).
11. Concretes for sustainable development (green concrete, LCA).
12. Application of high and ultra high-performance concrete.
13. Excursion to the production plant.
14. Credit week.
