Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Students are encouraged to understand the processes of degradation of materials and building structures. Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the subject is to acquire knowledge and skills in the field of remediation materials and their applications, and knowledge of technological processes.

Summary

Students are acquainted with basic requirements for construction and especially with defects and defects of buildings. Students are acquainted with the technological process of remediation, with special regard to the properties of remediation materials. Attention is paid to the rehabilitation of historical buildings and to the ecological and economic aspects of remediation technologies.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Students work out and present their semestral work. The study results are verified both in written and oral form.

Other requirements

The minimum attendance rate required is 70% or above. Absence of up to 30% must be excused and the apology must be accepted by the teacher. Requirements will be specified by the teacher at the beginning of the semester. Submission of assignments within the deadlines set by the teacher is required for credit obtaining.

• Technical building investigation • Evaluation of defects and failures • Aspects for selection and design of remediation technology • Materials and technologies for rehabilitation of concrete and reinforced concrete structures • Materials and technologies for rehabilitation of masonry structures • Materials and technologies for redevelopment of natural stone constructions • Materials and technologies for the redevelopment of wooden structures • Materials and technologies for the rehabilitation of metal structures
