Summary

Cílem předmětu je seznámit posluchače s typy průmyslových odpadů, které jsou využitelné jako alternativy primárních surovin při výrobě stavebních hmot. Pozornost bude konkrétně zaměřena na druhotné suroviny z těžby silikátových stavebních surovin (hlušiny, tepelně alterované horniny, odpadní písky apod.), druhotné suroviny z metalurgie (vysokopecní a ocelářské strusky, slévárenské písky), druhotné suroviny z energetiky (vysokoteplotní a fluidní popílky a energosádrovec) a druhotné suroviny ze stavební výroby a demolic (betonový recyklát, recyklované kamenivo). Podrobně bude probráno chemické a fázové složení a fyzikální vlastnosti základních typů odpadů, tedy parametry, které jednoznačně determinují možnost praktického využití každé z uvedených druhotných surovin. Důraz bude kladen také na ekologická a stavební rizika použití jednotlivých odpadů.

Subject syllabus:

• Terminology of wastes. Wastes production in Czech republic and their structure, waste categories. Outline of basic legislature in the area of wastes valid in Czech republic. Chosen international legal documents regarding to wastes. • Review of basic secondary materials originating during exploitation of raw materials (colliery spoil, including thermally changed rocks, non-standard aggregates), their composition and properties and possible utilisation in building materials production. Hazards of their usage in civil engineering. • Review of basic secondary materials originating in metallurgy (blast furnace slag, steel slag), their composition and properties and possible utilisation in building materials production. Hazards of their usage in civil engineering. • Review of basic secondary materials originating in the energy (furnace bottom ash, fly ash, fluidised ash, energy gypsum) their composition and properties and possible utilisation in building materials production. Hazards of their usage in civil engineering. • Review of basic secondary materials originating in civil engineering and demolitions (concrete and asphalt recyclates, recycled aggregate), their composition and properties and possible utilisation in building materials production. Hazards of their usage in civil engineering. • Qualitative demands to secondary materials, quality control. • Preparation and defence of seminary work.
