Summary

The aim of the course is to give an interpretation of the principles of quality management methods in the construction industry by defining processes and systems in the planning phase, preparation, construction and operation of the building. General principles of quality management are complemented by the historical development of methods and principles of continuous improvement based on feedback and using supporting quality management processes such as metrology, construction testing, standardization, product certification, statistical methods of processing the results etc. Emphasis is placed on active approach to the methods of quality standards according to ISO 9000 and an integrated system of environmental management and occupational health. Seminars are focused on process control of production, transportation, processing and treatment of fresh concrete, preparation of process control and test plan, conformity assessment. In the exercises, students are acquainted with the basic diagnostic methods of construction testing and possibilities of their application in quality control during construction. The listener in a separate seminar work, develops and defends Quality Plan of his diploma work. Quality Plan includes a description of the process of gradual elaboration of the thesis, control of inputs and resource evaluation, standards and regulations topicality, conformity assessment outcomes and principles of continuous quality improvement of a process by a feedback method.
