Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Define, description a recognize and interpretation of merit of individual building materials, known and explain the technology and utilization limits (testing of quality, corrosion, durability) of individual materials in building construction. Make a design of experiments, testing procedures and summarization of this knowledge for industrial application.

Summary

The properties of building materials. Management systems, securing the quality of building materials. Raw materials and secondery raw materials, recycling. Ceramic material and metals. Classical binders. Concrete properties and composite materials. Composites and fibre composites. Polymercement mortars and concrete. Special building materials and durability of building materials.

Subject syllabus:

lectures: 1st Physical and mechanical properties of building materials. 2nd IEC and EN, technical and environmental requirements for construction products. 3rd Management of quality building materials, quality control. 4th Raw materials for production of building materials, waste materials, recycling. 5th Stone and aggregates. 6th Ceramic products, glass, metals, wood 7th Bonding 8th Mortar and mortar. 9th Concrete, their components, production and maintenance service. Plastics substances in construction Composite materials. Polymercementobetonové mortars and concretes. Construction and building materials. Corrosion of building materials, protection and durability.
