Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The course studies the behavior of rock and especially soil bodies, which are either directly zeminovou structures or the environment in which the mining activities carried out or are in newly built structures in the direct contact. The introductory part of the course is devoted to the basics of soil mechanics, particularly for properties of rocks and soils and their behaviour under different conditions and under influence their own or external load. This theoretical part of the course solution followed by application of geotechnical engineering problems, including slope stability, earth pressures, filters, problems in the consolidation of soils, the general modelling in geotechnics and foundations and principles of geotechnical monitoring.
