Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

After graduation road and geotechnical laboratory students gain skills in basic types of testing, evaluation and application of results. This is a test such as: soil: a modified Proctor compaction test, California Bearing Ratio, light dynamic plate, static loading plate, dynamic penetration test, asphalt: determination of needle penetration, determination of the softening point-ring and ball method, pendulum skid tester TRRL.

Summary

The course deals with practical examples of measurements that are most commonly used the construction of line construction. The course deals with the soil water regime in the road, the effects of freezing. Another area of interest of course is the issue of stability embankment and cuts, the possibility of mathematical modeling of the stability issues and principles and methods of geotechnical monitoring in road construction.
