Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The course deals with practical examples of measurements that are commonly used in the construction of linear structures. The vast majority of the content is devoted to practical measurements. The aim of this course is to disseminate information and practical skills in the areas of soil properties, the method of determining the basic characteristics of the soil subgrade roads.

Summary

Learning outcomes of the course unit the subject deals with problems of water regime in subsoil, effects of freezing. Another area of ​​interest is the stability of embankments and ditches, the possibility of mathematical modeling of this stability issue and the principles and methods of geotechnical monitoring in road construction. - dynamic penetration - laboratory determination of optimal moisture - modified proctor test - laboratory determination of baseline tests of aggregates - CBR (California bearing ratio) test - laboratory determination of baseline soil tests - bulk density and density - laboratory determination of baseline soil tests - strength, triaxial test - measurement of subsoil deformation module - dynamic loading test - measurement of subsoil deformation module - static loading test - laboratory determination of baseline tests of aggregates - water absorption (absorption capacity) - laboratory determination of soil permeability - non-destructive testing of road construction materials. - in situ measurement for road condition monitoring.
