Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The student will be able to design and evaluate the optimal basis of the geotechnical conditions. It also covers making phase of foundation - the foundation pit.

For the final exam student solves problems of stability foundations and foundation pits associated with the topic of his dissertation.

Subject syllabus:
Categorization foundation conditions, factors determining the design of foundations, shallow foundations, deep foundations. Calculation of bearing capacity and deformation, conditions foundation, foundation in special conditions. The foundation pits and their stability, design and assessment of sheeting for the foundation pit, stability of slope construction pits, dewatering of foundation pits.
