Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
After completing this subject, students will be able to understand and apply the following skills and topic areas:
- Basic overview of individual structures of buildings.
- Structural solution of typical building, industrial and technological constructions.
- Creation of 3D steel structure model in software Tekla Structures.
- Creation of drawing documentation from the created 3D model.
- Interconnection of static calculations with 3D structure model.
- Operational management of design and construction of steel structures with BIM tools.

Summary
Learning outcomes of the course unit The subject deals with basic constructions of building construction - foundations, vertical bearing structures, horizontal structures, structures connecting floors and roofs. Also, the static action of these structures is discussed.

Other requirements
At least 70% attendance at the exercises. Absence, up to a maximum of 30%, must be excused
and the apology must be accepted by the teacher (the teacher decides to recognize the reason
for the excuse). Tasks assigned on the exercises must be hand in within the dates set by the
teacher.
Requirements for the student in the case of an individual study plan: At least 50%
participation in exercises, submission of all required programs, writing of the test.

1. Familiarization with program, basic rules of working in program.
2. 3D building model - principle of floors, sections and views setting.
3. 3D building model - masonry, openings, horizontal constructions.
4. 3D building model - roof, parametric objects (libraries).
5. 3D building model - zones and interactive room tables.
6. Printing and publication. Data transfer/sharing.
7. Tekla Structures program environment.
8. Spatial frame structure - basic grid creation, basic operations with elements.
9. Spatial frame structure - columns and beams modeling, modeling platforms of different height levels.
10. Spatial frame structure - staircases modeling, anchoring modeling.
11. Spatial frame structure - typical joints modeling.
12. Spatial frame structure - design drawings and bill of materials.

14. Operational management of design and construction of load-bearing structures with BIM tools.
