Summary

Issues focused on modern investment construction projects, including a wide range of building materials, building elements and building technologies. These are currently planned, designed and managed to meet the high requirements for building design, quality and sustainability throughout the building’s lifecycle. The aim of the entire construction investment process is to create quality and modern buildings that meet the needs of users and society. Aspects that influence the choice of building materials and building technologies include, for example, durability over time, moisture protection, climate and acoustic comfort, energy efficiency, durability and sustainability. The study extends engineering knowledge to include different phases of construction projects in the field of selection and application of new materials and technologies; it deals with the issue of design and realization of details of structures and buildings, analysis of technological and environmental aspects in the construction of buildings, both new buildings and buildings for renovation and modernization. Part of the issue is the link to ecological and environmental design, which is currently reflected in the design of modern buildings, especially in the area of design, creation and realization of so-called “eco-walls, which can significantly contribute to the application of sustainable construction principles or further reflects in the field of experimental construction of “island houses” or “container housing”, etc., and the related problems of structural design (e.g. structural design of buildings in terms of the requirements for thermal technology, foundation, technical equipment of buildings, anchoring of special technologies and elements, etc.). The study extends the engineering knowledge of buildings to include the field of experimental design and implementation, with a link to ecology, sustainability, energy, especially in the design phase of the building.
