Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of the subject is to provide basic knowledge of chosen chapters of the structural engineering.
Curriculum:
1. Buildings situated in undermined area.
2. Buildings in flood area.
3. The protect of the buildings against radon (from subsoil and building material)
4. The quesrion of heat in the industrial and agricultural buildings.

The course will deal with basic knowledge of chosen chapters of civil engineering, particularly: buildings situated in mining areas, buildings
in flood areas, protection of buildings against radon (from subsoil
and construction material) thermotechnical problemas of industrial
and agricultural buildings.

Other requirements
At least 70% attendance at the exercises. Absence, up to a maximum of 30%, must be excused and the apology must be accepted by the teacher (the teacher decides to recognize the reason for the excuse). Tasks assigned on the exercises must be hand in within the dates set by the teacher.

for designing buildings in flood areas.
5. The buildings in flood areas. Changes in existing buildings. Rehabilitation of buildings after a flood.
6. The buildings in mining areas. The effects of mining on the earth surface. Area of subsidence.
7. The buildings in mining areas. General rules for designing buildings in mining areas. The specific conditions of geological surveys in mining areas. Various types of buldings.
