Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Introduction to general environmental issues in global and local scale with emphasis on the major types of human settlements. Dominant is the environment of housing, services, production and recreation. They are evaluated with the accompanying phenomena such as environmental damage and remediation, particularly in new construction and reconstruction of older settlements.

At least 70% attendance at the exercises. Absence, up to a maximum of 30%, must be excused and the apology must be accepted by the teacher (the teacher decides if he accept the reason for the excuse). Tasks assigned on the exercises must be hand in within the dates set by the teacher.

Subject syllabus:

1. Overview of the environment according to the proportion of the forces of man and nature. 2. Environmental legislation and international conventions. 3. Environment with the prevailing forces of nature. 4. Environment settlements in national parks and protected areas. 5. Environment forestry and water management and agriculture. 6. Rural settlements. 7. Small cities and their development. 8. Cities of medium size. Development and reconstruction of existing settlements. 9. Metropolis. 10. Panel housing and satellites. 11. Negative influences of the environment in settlements. 12. – 13. Exercise in evaluating the selected location. 14. Workshop with a proposal to improve the office environment.
