Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
By completing the course the student is familiar with the typology of simpler types of public buildings including basic solutions for public areas. The doctrine of construction teaches basic conceptual structure of the field of architectural typologies, whose knowledge allows students to process new information (not only for this course) and place them in context.
Students will acquire basic knowledge typology of civil buildings in the historical, social and technical contexts, to the extent necessary for further study and follow-up studio work (Studio Work II).

Lectures
Summary
The lectures introduce students to the basics of architectural design of typical types of civil buildings with respect to their cultural and technological importance and influence on the quality of the built environment from the perspective of both individuals and society. The architecture of public buildings (public accommodation and catering, trade, primary health care, school buildings, buildings for sport and administration) is put into the context of historical, typological and operational, including the introduction of basic applicable standards and regulations.
Lectures are supplemented with excursions to discover the historical and contemporary buildings and outside lectures.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester
Students work out answers to questions entered in the lectures and develop independent seminary work to the presented subject matter.
