Introduction to the historical development of architecture and construction in the late 19th century, with an emphasis on style classification and evolution of structure in different historical periods.

Summary

Students of the Civil Engineering program must master a number of subjects that are purely technical in nature. For an overall understanding of their significance and broad contexts of design and history, it is essential that listeners understand the history of construction and architecture throughout its timeline. Only on the basis of this study can they become quality technicians and engineers.

1) Building and Architecture - the importance and challenges the basic building terminology 2) The basic concepts of historical architecture - historical vaults, ceilings ... 3) Basic concepts of historic architecture - layout broken secular and religious buildings 4) Construction forms of Prehistory and Antiquity (the older Stone Age to Bronze Age, the area outside Europe, Egypt) 5) Construction forms of antiquity (ancient Greece) 6) Construction forms of antiquity (ancient Rome) 7) Construction forms of the Middle Ages (Christian antiquity, pre-Roman period, Byzantium) 8) Construction forms of the Middle Ages (Romanesque) 9) Construction forms of Ages (Gothic) 10) Building forms the Modern Era (Renaissance) 11) Construction forms of modern times (Baroque) 12) Construction forms of modern times (Classical) 13) Construction forms of modern times (historicism and romanticism) 14) Construction forms of the 19th and early 20th century (late historicism and art nouveau)
