Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Students will develop an overview of building settlements in the vast majority of urban design from the beginning of settlement. Principles of spatial planning in the Czech Republic and its legislation with examples of high-quality solutions.

Summary
Students will develop an overview of building settlements in the vast majority of urban design from the beginning of settlement - the oldest city of Jericho, the organic seats of Malta, Sardinia and Central America. Seats Fertile Triangle - Mesopotamia, Turkey, the Nile. The main seat of the Sumerians, Babylonians, Assyrians, Hittites and Egyptians. Archaic Greece - Crete, Mycenae. Top Greece - Athens, Sparta, Korintos, Hellenic Greece, Pergamon, Roman Empire and the cities from Great Britain to Syria, prehistoric, Celtic, Roman, Germanic and Slavic settlement in the CR. Locations fortified settlement. Medieval cities of Italy, France, Germany, Russia. Medieval grew in the CR. The medieval town founded in the colonization phase. Influence of the Renaissance building cities. Baroque Rome. Development of Paris. The development of London. The development of Prague, Brno and Ostrava. Garden cities and urban utopian ideas. Modern urban planning ideas. The modern town was founded. Urban theory. Athens Charter and contemporary urban development, public housing, particularly extensive construction. Principles of spatial planning in the Czech Republic and its legislation with examples of high-quality solutions.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester
Continuous submission of assignments given at lectures on the dates set by the teacher.
