Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the process of preparation and creation of a architectural project, perception of arrangement (auspicious function) and aesthetics within the harmonic composition of all its components and in the context of creation of artificial space with the influence of functional, structural, material and aesthetical elements (architectural design, architectural space, scale) to the quality of the architectural work and the environment. Summary

The course serves as a preparation for the Atelier ZAN II. and Design Studio I. Students will learn how to adjust the drawing documentation of the building in the form of an architectural study, get to know with iconic buildings for living, with the basics of composition, typology and ergonomics by analyzing an existing architectural work. The accomplishment of the course presupposes the acquisition of basic methods of manual drawing and basic digital methods, mastering expressions in the form of building drawings, poster, physical model and oral presentation of the work

In the individual exercises part of the oral presentation of individual architectural works to the students.

Subject syllabus:

1. introduction, assignment of the exapmle of the architectural work for analysis, recommended literature, introduction to the individual exercises, purpose of exercises and outputs, explanation of the use of information sources, list of aids for exercises (practical exercise - layout of own housing + operating diagram) 2. drawing floor plans 3. plans to be analyzed - functional zoning, marking the social and rest zone, additional creation of the operating scheme 4. cuts 5. views 6. compositional analysis of the facade 7. entering the physical model, creating the model 8. object analysis 9. 3D view - axonometry or perspective 10. architectural situation 11. making an overall analysis in the form of texts and drawings 12. architectural detail 13. poster 14. finalization

Mandatory attendence participation: At least 70% attendance at seminars. Absence of a maximum of 30% must be excused and the excuse must be accepted by the teacher (the teacher decides on the justification of the excuse). Continuous submission of tasks assigned to the exercises in terms set by the teacher. At the end of submission of elaborated paper A3, poster B1 and CD.
