Learning outcomes of the course unit The subject follows the first cycle of lectures Basics of Urbanism and Spatial Planning and Urbanism and Spatial Planning and aims to clarify the function of greenery in settlements. In the exercises, the design of the RD garden composition - work with the terrain, use of compositional principles, use of materials; landscaping of public space.

Subject syllabus:

1. Basic concepts of sadicultural creation, function of greenery in settlements, plants and their gardening classification and demands, origin 2. Composition principles in landscape and gardening 3. Development of garden art in the Czech lands 4. Types of greenery in cities, greenery in the village and countryside 5. Care of greenery, green passport, greenery. 6. Reconstruction of parks and gardens 7. Roof and winter gardens 8. Basics of territorial system of ecological stability, accompanying greenery around settlements vegetation accompaniment of roads, railways, watercourses, etc.
