Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of the course are basic professional knowledge and competence in the area:
Define public transport systems, describe their main tasks.
Derive and explain the differences between individual systems and derive a system of integration.
Apply theoretical knowledge to a specific design of any system of public transport.
Analyze strengths and weaknesses of all types of public transport and categorize them in terms of suitability.

Summary
Students will acquire basic skills, competencies of public transport systems, their cross comparison and possibilities of their involvement in regional integrated transport systems.
The complete form of the student familiar with the proposal of the transport system according to the transport network and the role of public transport systems in it. Substantial parts of the course are also major technical and legal principles of building and operation of integrated transport systems and draft the necessary transport infrastructure. Urban development in towns, automotive, changes in living standards of the population, but also new demands on the quality of the environment require new knowledge and models dealing with transport. Knowledge will be complemented by of system specifics of public transport and coexistence with other transport modes, particularly those that are not part of an integrated transport system.
Knowledge and skills acquired student completing the course:
Overview of the development of individual types of public transport and the ways and conditions of their mutual integration.
Corresponding requirements for the design of the transport system according to the required parameters. A substantial part of the design of transport facilities for transportation, passengers, routes and connections of individual types of public transport.
Urban development in towns, automotive, changes in living standards of the population, but also new demands on the quality of the environment require new knowledge and models of dealing with one of the most important functions of the city - traffic. Knowledge will be complemented by system design specifics of public transport and coexistence with other modes of transport.
