Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of this course is to acquaint students with the basic elements of infrastructure for railway and to practice such knowledge and skills.
Students will acquire basic knowledge and skills in construction, geometry and surround arrangement of the railway line, then the types of systems and safety device and last but not least, learn with the area of diagnostics on the railways, identification and categorization of defects in structural elements of railway track. The course includes the instruction aimed at acquiring basic knowledge in the infrastructure of railway stations and knowledge of reducing the impact of rail transport on the environment.

Summary
Students will learn the fundamentals of geometric, structural and area arrangement of tracks, identifying and categorizing defects in structural elements of railway track repair organizations, superstructure a substructure, and equipment to railway stations, buildings, railway equipment (platforms, subways, footbridge, the platform shelters, dispatch buildings, warehouses, landfills), modernization of the railway network in the CR. Further instruction is focused on the types railway systems a safety equipment and not least the knowledge of the diagnosis by reducing the impact of railways and railway transport on the environment.
Completing the course students acquire knowledge about the purpose and layout construction elements of railway infrastructure, including the principles of railway lines crossing the roads, water courses and engineering buildings. Students acquire basic knowledge of the purpose and construction equipment, train stations, railway stations and railway junctions, acquire knowledge about the purpose and design of various types of signaling system and systems device of railways.
Students will acquire knowledge of diagnostic technologies a the implementation of corrective operations on the railway superstructure and substructure, acquire basic knowledge of related legal, technical and technological standards, learn with the application of special mechanization of for the railway

At least 70% attendance at the exercises. Absence, up to a maximum of 30%, must be excused and the apology must be accepted by the teacher (the teacher decides to recognize the reason for the excuse). Tasks assigned on the exercises must be hand in within the dates set by the teacher.

Lectures:
-Introduction to railway construction (lines, equipment, vehicle, traction), principles of design of railway track, track resistances and resistances driving vehicles, the route of constant resistance
-Construction and geometric arrangement of tracks (track, direction ratios and inclinations), the spatial arrangement of the track (gauge, distance rail axes, axes crossing distance tracks, distances of buildings from the wheel axis., Spatial arrangement of the bridges)

-Substructure (design principles, construction of railway. Substructure, drainage ...)
