Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Know the issue of traffic surveys and capacity assessment of local roads and intersections. Carry out the division of roads, intersections, vehicle parking, roads for pedestrians and cyclists, etc. Analyze traffic accidents and traffic conflicts. Conduct an audit and safety inspection of roads. Master the basics of traffic modeling.

Summary

The subject deals with basic legislation in the area of design of urban roads, traffic surveys and capacity assessment. Students will learn about the division and design of roads, intersections, parking, roads for pedestrians and cyclists, residential zones, etc. Another part of the subject is devoted to the analysis of traffic accidents and traffic conflicts, safety audit and road safety inspection and the basics of traffic modeling on local roads.

Road intersections - types, basic design rules. 5. Parking of vehicles - types, basic design rules. 6. Integrated mass transport systems. 7. Traffic calming. 8. Pedestrian communication - types, basic design rules. 9. Cyslist communications - types, basic design rules. 10. Residential zones, zones 30 - types, basic design rules. 11. Analysis of traffic accidents and traffic conflicts. 12. Road safety audit. 13. Road safety inspection. 14. Basics of traffic modeling on urban roads.
