Summary

Finite element method; fundamentals of numerical modelling of structures; utilisation of computers; types of boundary conditions and loads; bar constructions; introduction to 2D structures modelling.

At least 70% attendance at the exercises. Absence, up to a maximum of 30%, must be excused and the apology must be accepted by the teacher (the teacher decides to recognize the reason for the excuse). Tasks assigned on the exercises must be hand in within the dates set by the teacher.

Special possiblitities: holes, excentricities. 7. Spatial frame. 8. Spatial frame - complex case. 9. Introdution to planar structures. 10. Plane stress problem. 11. Plane strain problem. 12. Slabs. 13. Shells. 14. Test.
