Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Ability to solve non-linear problems of structural mechanics (plasticity, linear stability). Ability to recognize and to describe types of non-linear behaviour of building structures. Ability to solve non-linear problems with help of special software.

Knowledge about non-linear problems related to civil engineering structures and materials (constitutive modelling, damage, linear stability, large deformations).

Other requirements

Students have to prepare an independent work (solution of a given problem) in the area of the non-linear mechanics. At least 70% attendance at the exercises. Absence, up to a maximum of 30%, must be excused and the apology must be accepted by the teacher (the teacher decides to recognize the reason for the excuse). Tasks assigned on the exercises must be hand in within the dates set by the teacher.
