Abilities for advanced computational modelling of composite materials. Ability to choose a proper computational model for given composite material. Ability to prepare computational models for structures from composite materials.

Summary

The subject is based on a numerical analysis of composite material for building structures. Several approaches for numerical modelling is discussed and results of their use are compared.

Subject syllabus:

1. Composite material definition. 2. Production and use of composite materials. 3. Experimental research. 4. Modelling of composites. 5. Microstructural models. 6. Fiber-bed interaction. 7. Mathematical description of anisotropic materials. 8. Computation of homogenized material properties. 10. Modelling of polymers.
