Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Objective of the course in terms of learning outcomes and competences The aim of the course is to deepen the knowledge of the Matlab programming system to create engineering applications, to master advanced numerical mathematical methods and to use them in solving the problems of building mechanics, deepening the knowledge of programming and algorithms.

Teaching methods

Individual consultations

Students will deepen their knowledge of the subjects of Fundamentals of Structural Mechanics, Elastity and Plasticity I and II, Structural Mechanics and Statical Calculations in Engineering in the course Special Tasks of Building Mechanics. Students will be acquainted with energy principles and variational methods in building mechanics and with tasks of nonlinear mechanics (physical non-linearity, geometrical non-linearity, theory of IInd order, final deformation). They will learn to use the principle of virtual works for the calculation of strain structures according to theory IInd order and final deformations. Part of the course is also a force method and a direct stiffness method with a focus on solving problems according to theory IInd order.
