Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The subject provides basic information about heating and ventilation of buildings. The student will acquire basic knowledge of building heating systems and heat sources. Gaining knowledge in the field of renewable energy sources and their use in heating systems. They will become familiar with the basic principles of building ventilation design. After completing the course, the student will be able to design a standard solution for a heating and ventilation system based on the layout and design of a simple building. The student will be able to use this knowledge for complex building design.

The course introduces students to the heating of buildings - heat source, design and individual heating pipes heating surfaces.

At least 70% attendance at the exercises. Absence, up to a maximum of 30%, must be excused and the apology must be accepted by the teacher (the teacher decides to recognize the reason for the excuse).
Tasks assigned on the exercises must be hand in within the dates set by the teacher.

Subject syllabus:
Lectures:
1stIntroductory lecture, laws, regulations.
2nd Heating. Heat, indoor climate of buildings, thermal comfort and its impact on
human organism.
3rd Heating. Heat loss and the possibility of reducing them. Calculation
heat loss mathematically and by PC. Drawing the schemata elements
4th Heating. Heating systems and forced gravity. Design and calculation piping.
5th Basic types of heating boilers - stationary, hanging, mobile. Boilers
conventional, low temperature and condensation. Other sources - cogeneration
units, heat pumps, solar equipment.
6th Safety device for heating systems, hot water and steam. Expansion
vessel and safety valve. Design, calculation, calibration and control.
7th Ventilation and air conditioning. Optimization of microclimate of buildings. Systems
air.
8th Ventilation and air conditioning. Natural ventilation, air conditioning a little. Forced
ventilation and cooling system.
9th Radiators. Types, construction, performance, installation requirements. Accessories
radiators, adjusting the flow media, regulating valves.
10th Hot water heating. Warming methods, integration into heating systems
calculating the consumption of TV, heating Hygiene - Legionella bacteria.
11th Gas appliances HVAC equipment in the field. Basic rules for the design and installation
gas equipment, operational testing and revision.
12th Types of fuels, their impact on the environment, the possibility of saving fuel. Nontraditional
energy sources. Energy-efficient houses. Hysolární energy.
13th Central heating, district boiler, heating plants, heating network,
transfer station. DHW systems in the CPM. Measuring quantity
heat consumed.
14th Evaluating the operation of heating equipment, thermal efficiency, standardized
degree of utilization, evaluation criteria according to the EU operation. Environmental programs.
The burden of emission-free construction.
15th Health and safety at work with the heat source, mandatory training
service, required documentation for the device.
