Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim is to gain knowledge in the proper design of buildings in terms of their thermal characteristics, the principle of calculating heat losses. Students will be able to suggest suitable radiators and choosemost suitable heating source . Students also acquire knowledge in the use of energy resources.

Summary
The course gives comprehensive information about the climate of cities, settlements and buildings, hydraulics, piping, heat exchange, the internal climate of buildings, space heating, heating systems, domestic sources of heating, ventilation.
The course deepens the knowledge of the energy performance of buildings and introduces new technologies, the use of unconventional energy sources.

Lecture:
1st Introductory lecture. Recommended reading. The climate of cities, settlements and buildings.
2nd Heating. Heat. The internal climate of buildings. Optimization of microclimate of the building.
3 Thermal design of the building.
4th Heating, heat loss calculation and the possibility of heat loss snižování.Výpočet mathematically and by PC.
5th Energy Performance Certificate.
6th Heating. Heating system. Security equipment. Residential heating source.
7th Basic types of heating boilers, stationary, hanging, mobile, conventional, low temperature, condensing, CHP units, heat pumps, solar equipment.
8th Heating. Safety device for heating systems, hot water and steam. Expansion vessel and safety valve. Design, calculation, calibration and control.
9th Ventilation and air conditioning. Natural ventilation, air conditioning systems.
10th Radiators. Types, construction, performance, installation requirements. Accessories radiators, adjusting the flow media, regulating valves.
11th Hot water. Methods of heating, connection to heating systems, calculating the consumption of hot water, heating Hygiene - Legionella bacteria.
12th Gas installations in HVAC. Basic rules for the design and installation of gas equipment, operational tests and inspections.
13th Central heating, district boiler, heating plants, heating network, the transfer station. DHW systems in the CPM. Measuring Quantity of Heat.
14th Evaluating the operation of heating equipment, thermal efficiency, the use of standard efficiency, criteria of evaluation of operations to the EU. Environmental programs. The burden of emission-free construction.
15th Demonstration of the energy performance of a building. European Directive 2002/91 / EC as well as other EU countries. Reduction of energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
