Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Students will acquire basic knowledge of building acoustics and daylighting of buildings and sunshine. After completing the course the student is able to solve basic acoustic task, in particular the assessment of acoustic properties of building structures. It can calculate and assess daylight and sunshine buildings.

Part Acoustics deals with - the sound spread in the environment, spatial acoustics, buildings - air and impact sound insulation.
Part daylighting deals with - natural light in buildings, the basic requirements for daylighting, daylight factor calculations, sunshine in residential buildings.

Syllabus of lectures:
1st Daylighting Buildings - Daylight, specific problems and requirements of different types of daylighting buildings - residential, commercial, industrial and specific (např.galerií). Lighting systems, day lighting design.
2nd Methods of calculation and measurement of daylighting buildings - a graphical method of calculation program (WDLS), measurement methods, examples of solutions.
3rd Policy design and implementation of associated lighting, area lighting neosvětlitelných active and passive lighting systems.
4th Insolation building - the geometry coordinates of the sun and sun rays, sunshine requirements for residential buildings and outdoor sun exposure.
5th Methods for calculating the sunshine of buildings - a graphical method of calculation program (SunLis).
6th The importance of insolation in urban planning, control of solar radiation
7th Building acoustics. The perception of sound, acoustic immission values, limits, sources of sound in the living and working environment, quantity of acoustic emission. Sound propagation in the open and closed space, sound attenuation.
8th Construction of sound absorption.
9th Acoustics buildings - air-borne sound.
10th Acoustics of building structures - the sound of distributed structures. Measurement of acoustic properties of structures.
11th Room acoustics - wavelength, geometrical and statistical acoustics, optimum reverberation time.
12th Sound propagation in the ear canal, the sound of building equipment, stationary sound sources in urban acoustics.
13th Urban Acoustics - Noise from the road, measures against traffic noise.
