Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Complete design of ventilation, simple hot-air systems and easy air-conditioning systems. Semestral project.

Summary
Students will learn the foundations in the branch of ventilation and air-conditioning of the common objects (residential, civil construction, etc.), in the theoretical lectures and practical examples, the calculations and proposals ventilation equipment (in various alternative solutions). Also, the emphasis is on economic and energy issues of the proposal itself.

Other requirements
At least 70% attendance at the exercises. Absence, up to a maximum of 30 %, must be excused and the apology must be accepted by the teacher (the teacher decides to recognize the reason for the excuse).
Tasks assigned on the exercises must be hand in within the dates set by the teacher.

Subject syllabus:
•Basic concepts, internal microclimate requirements, parameters;
•Summer and winter air modifications, h-x diagram, heating, cooling, moisture, humidity, the mixing;
•Requirements for ventilation and air-conditioning according to applicable laws;
•Calculation of heat load, air-conditioned space, heat balance;
•Air-conditioning systems, refrigeration systems;
•Contaminants, filtration, filter types, principles of separation;
•Airflow pipeline pressure drop, design methodology pipe networks;
•Fans and pressure conditions in the pipe network;
•Methods of air distribution;
•Noise in air-conditioning, the general context;
•Fire safety in air-conditioning, natural ventilation, forced ventilation;
•Machine-rooms of air-conditioning;
•Project documentation for the installation of HVAC equipment;
•Garage ventilation.
