Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim is to deepen understanding and knowledge of students in the field of building physics. Complex solving of problems of the thermal protection of buildings with intensify of current findings of master studies. Modeling of thermal effects and computer simulation, especially with a view to solving of 2-D a 3-D thermal field. Energy balance of buildings. Measuring of the thermal-technical characteristics. Part Acoustics deepens student's knowledge of sound propagation outdoors and indoors, with a focus on the acoustic properties of building constructions, evaluation, measurement and computational models of buildings. Part Daylight deepens student's knowledge in the assessment of daylight and sunshine in buildings. It focuses on computational graphic methods and computer simulation. , •

Subject syllabus:

Thermal-technical requirements on the thermal protection of buildings, energy legislation. Calculation methods of solving of the thermal-technical quantities (TEPLO 2009). Computer simulation and assessment of details by means of two-(three) dimensional temperature field (AREA 2009, CUBE3D 2009) at the steady thermal field. Practical use of software for building physics with a solution of one-dimensional temperature field at the unsteady thermal field (CalA). Thermal stability of a room – an assessment of a critical room from a point of view of a maximal increase of temperature and a maximal summer temperature (STABILITA 2009, SIMULACE 2009). Building energy characteristic of a building (ZTRÁTY 2009, ENERGIE 2009). Practical checking of the thermal-technical characteristics with form of measuring in situ.
