Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim is to deepen understanding and knowledge of students in the field of building physics.
Complex solving of problems of the thermal protection of buildings with intensify of current findings of master studies. Modeling of thermal effects and computer simulation, especially with a view to solving of 2-D a 3-D thermal field. Energy balance of buildings. Measuring of the thermal-technical characteristics.
Part Acoustics deepens student's knowledge of sound propagation outdoors and indoors, with a focus on the acoustic properties of building constructions, evaluation, measurement and computational models of buildings.
Part Daylight deepens student's knowledge in the assessment of daylight and sunshine in buildings. It focuses on computational graphic methods and computer simulation.

Summary
Choice problems of the thermal protectin of buildings. Practical numerical modelling of hygro-thermal effects and computer simulation. Hygro-thermal static modelling of critical building details by means of two (three)-dimensional temperature field. Energy performance of buildings. Calculation of energy use for space heating. Practical checking of the thermal-technical characteristics with form of measuring in situ.

Subject syllabus:
Thermal-technical requirements on the thermal protection of buildings, energy legislation. Calculation methods of solving of the thermal-technical quantities (TEPLO 2011). Computer simulation and assessment of details by means of two-(three) dimensional temperature field (AREA 2011, CUBE3D 2009) at the steady thermal field. Practical use of software for building physics with a solution of one-dimensional temperature field at the unsteady thermal field (CalA).
Thermal stability of a room – an assessment of a critical room from a point of view of a maximal increase of temperature and a maximal summer temperature (STABILITA 2011, SIMULACE 2011). Building energy characteristic of a building (ZTRÁTY 2011, ENERGIE 2013). Practical checking of the thermal-technical characteristics with form of measuring in situ.
