Summary

The content of the subject of Mechanics I is divided in several principal areas : • kinematics of the movement of bodies and their systems (mechanisms), • forces and force systems, • statics of bodies and their systems, • dynamics of movement of bodies and their systems, • foundation of mechanical vibration. In the subject of Mechanics I the students acquire the basic knowledge on motion of bodies and their systems and they get acquainted with the principal rules and relations between the force action and the movement. The prerequisity for the study is completing the subjects of basis of mathematics and physics in the extent taught at the technological universities in the Czech Republic.

- Describe the method of release (free body diagram), as a fundamental principle of statics multibody systems - Clarify the procedure for solving direct beams to understand and determine the course of internal force effects; - Calculate tasks of Statics of multibody systems with the effect of passive resistance - Apply the D\'Alembert principle to solve cases of planar motion of a body - Implement methods for solving dynamics of planar mechanisms, discussing the advantages and disadvantages; Clarify the fundamentals of vibrations

Subject syllabus:

1. Composition and decomposition of forces, force the system on a common point of action of the plane forces, replacing a balance. Moments of forces, couples generally planar force systems, replacement and balance. 2. Centre of gravity: lines, surfaces and solids, Guldin-Papp laws. 3. Degrees of freedom, basic types of constrains, static solution of multibody systems. 4. Straight beams, finding courses of internal forces, truss structures. 5. Passive resistances in technical practice. 6. Kinematics and Dynamics of mass point. Integral laws of dynamics. 7. Kinematics and Dynamics of translation, rotation and general plane motion. 8. Dynamics of mechanisms with constant gear ratio - method of releasing a reduction method. 9. Basic theory of technical vibration.
