The student of the doctoral program learns to use the latest knowledge in the field of experimental methods in mechanics and flexibility and strength with the possibility to further develop and apply this knowledge in the field of design and designing and assessment of components of vehicles.

Subject syllabus:
1. Photoelasticity. Linear and circular polarized light, isocratic and isochromatic lines, isostatic lines, polariscop with through and reflected light.
2. The method of shear stress difference. Spatial photoelasticimetry.
3. Tensometry. Tensometers and measuring instruments. Deformation sensitivity (K- factor) and calibration of tensometers. Bridge connection of tensometers, sensors.
4. Measurement of force and weight. Torque measurement.
5. Residual tension measurement - Slicing and Drilling Method of Gradual Drilling.
6. The method of fragile lacquers. Method principle, sensitivity of fragile lacquers, calibration.
7. Measurement of tensile and compressive stresses. The moiré method. Principles of mechanical interference, types of moiré grids.
8. Measurement of elastic and plastic deformations. Vizioplastic method. Methods of making grids, measurement of displacement of nodal points of the grid, elaboration of deformations and stresses using the theory of plasticity.
9. Fotoplasticity Types of photoplasticimetric methods of deformation measurements based on isokinetic and isochromatic lines.
10. Voltage solving, application of plasticity theory, method of gradual approximation.
11. Modern optical methods (DIC, ESPI)
