Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Primay aim of this subject is to provide theoretical and applied framework for mechanical description of the plastic, rubber-like (hyper or visko elastic) or non-isotropic materials. Student will gain knowledge to properly simulate mechanical response of the above mentioned types of materials.

Summary

This topic aims to present a basic introduction to mechanics of non metalic materials. Specificaly, the phenomena which does not exists or are negligible in metalic materials. First part of the lectures is aimed at mechanics of plastics with aim at simulation of glass temperature. Second part of the lectures will aim at introducing the basics of the theory of hyper and visco elasticity together with presentation of some of the common constitutive models used in this area. Last part of lectures will focus on mechanics of long fiber composites.
