Summary

Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to further develop students' ability to solve product design with a simple function, to deepen their knowledge of the basic attributes of designing industrial design and to support the acquisition of necessary habits, thought processes and the development of basic skills, including the ability to work with digital technologies. The aim is also to instill and further develop listeners' respect for the technical, operational and technological aspects of design activity.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Students will elaborate two semester tasks on industrial product design. The output will be drawings, computer visualization and physical model. Requirements for granting the credit: elaboration and defense of two complete semestral projects, minimum participation of students at seminars 80%.

1-2. Assignment of task-design of industrial product design, problem analysis, obtaining background and information 3. – 4. Design sketches, corrections, model sketches 4. – 5. More designs and sketches, model sketches, final version approval, model making 6. – 7. Model making, task assignment 2 - design of industrial product design with a specific function, additional correction, task 2 analysis 8. Defense of 1st task, 2nd task - suggestions and sketches 9. – 10. Suggestions and sketches for task 2, model sketches, final variant approval 11. – 14. Model making, additional correction, completion of the second task and submission, defense of the second task (studio work)
