Summary

The course is focused on the general concept of ergonomics as a scientific discipline. At practical exercises, students will use the knowledge of anthropometry / somatometry of a human being.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Students will receive credit for active participation in seminars and for summarizing basic information about their own body (80% attendance). Credit is a prerequisite for passing the exam. The exam will be based on lectured topics supplemented by self-study in oral form.

Subject syllabus:

Basic topics - topics for lectures: • Orientation in Legislation and Czech Technical Standards (2 hours). • General ergonomics (3 hours). • Special ergonomics - clothing and footwear (2 hours). • Special ergonomics - industry and agriculture (3 hours). • Special ergonomics - school furniture (4 hours). Syllabus of practical exercises - areas for exercises: • Anthropometry / head somatometry (4 hours). • Anthropometry / torso and limb somatometry (16 hours). • Body composition analysis (4 hours). • Visual and auditory visualization (2 hours). • Workspace (2 hours).
