Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Student will be able to orientate himself in the branch of experimental mechanics. He will be able to carry out electrical measurement of mechanical quantities - forces, strains, displacements, velocities and acceleration of vibration. He will be able to identify the type of the task and use the appropriate type of transducer in appropriate way. He will be familiar with the bases of processing of the measured signals and with operating measurement analyzers.

Summary

The subject deals with problematics of measurement and experiment. Main topics are electrical measurements of mechanical quantities, analogue and digital processing of the measured signal, principles of strain gauges measurements and fotoelasticimetry. Students will get acquainted with basic constructs and quantities in experimental mechanics, with various types of transducers and with the ways of measuring mechanical quantities.

Compulsory literature:

1. Randall, R.B.: Frequency analysis, Bruel&Kjaer, Denmark, 1987 2. Eshleman, R.L.: Basic Machinery Vibrations, VIPress, Illinois, 1999

Recommended literature:

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

During semestr, students elaborate measurement protocols. Correct elaboration of a protocol serves as evidence of encompassment of the problematics.
