Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Students will master problematics of modal tests both theoretically and practically. They will be able recognize in their future engineering practise, when it is appropriate to utilize results obtained by modal test as a part of solving the current problem and they will be able to gain these results. They will be able to use data from experiment for finite element models updating, which significantly increases validity of computational methods. They will master the advanced vibration diagnostics technique - vizualization of operatiion deflection shapes.

Summary

Předmět seznámí studenty s pokročilými experimentálními metodami používanými ve vibrační diagnostice strojů a strojních součástí: 1) s metodou zviditelnění provozních tvarů kmitů a 2) s modální analýzou, a to prováděnou jak klasicky s použitím řízeného buzení, tak s provozní modální analýzou založenou pouze na vyhodnocení vibrační odezvy na přirozené buzení. Studenti budou schopni rozpoznat, v jaké diagnostické situaci je vhodné každou z metod použít, seznámí se s teorií související s jednotlivými metodami a s přístrojovým, technickým a softwarovým vybavením používaným při aplikaci jednotlivých metod. Budou schopni připravit a provést modální zkoušku a vyhodnotit experimentálně získaná data. Výsledky experimentálních metod budou schopni využít k provedení nebo upřesnění diagnózy stavu stroje.

Subject syllabus:

1. Technical equipment used fro vibration measurement and evaluation. 2. The use of phase for ODS visualization, transmissibility measurements, time and spectral ODS. 3. Using of ODS in vibration diagnostics. 4. Case study - diagnostics of a machine based on ODS. 5. Modal test - its purpose and application, basic concepts. 6. Dual channel analysis, definition of the basic functions - transfer function, coherence function. 7. Mobility measurement methods, basic measurement setup. Analyzers, digital signal processing, excitation methods. 8. Introduction to experimental modal analysis theory. SIngle degree-of-freedom system, SDOF frequency response function. 9. Undamped and damped multi degree-of-freedom system. 10. Modala parameters extraction methods. Application of experimental modal analysis in technical diagnostics. 11. Multiple input multiple output modal analysis. 12. Operational modal analysis, its usability, interpretation of the results. 13. Comparison of ODS, standard modal test and OMA.
