Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Students will build on the knowledge gained in the master studies and further develop in specific areas focused on the function of pumps, their properties and parameters, characteristics, hydraulic design of flow parts, application of hydrodynamic similarity, investigation of the hydrodynamic flow fields in the pump with the use of numerical modelling.

Základní princip funkce a hlavní části hydrodynamických čerpadel, vlastnosti hydrodynamických čerpadel, popis proudění v oběžném kole, transformace energie v oběžném kole, Eulerova čerpadlová rovnice, teoretický a skutečný průběh charakteristik, vliv konečného počtu lopatek, ztráty v čerpadle,slip faktor, hydrodynamická podobnost, modelování, návrh hlavních hydraulických součástí čerpadla, sací schopnost čerpadla a kavitace, hydrodynamické síly, numerické modelování proudění v čerpadle.

Subject syllabus:
1.Basic operating principle and components of hydrodynamic pumps, characteristics properties of hydrodynamic pumps
2.Kinematic conditions in the hydrodynamic pump impeller, energy transfer in the impeller, Euler hydrodynamic pump equation, theoretical characteristics of the pump
3.Influence finite number of blades, the losses in the pump, slip factor, the actual characteristic of
pumps, performance data
4.Hydrodynamic similarity, specific speed, application of PI - theorem on the N -S equation, similarity criteria
5.Aplication of HD similarity pumps: modification of the pump characteristics, modeling, calculation of parameters of the model to work
6.Influence of liquid physical properties on the course of the characteristic pump curves
7.Design of the main hydraulic components of a pump-impeller design
8. The main principles of volute casing and diffuser hydraulic design
9. Suction capability of a pump and cavitation
10.Hydraulic forces, prediction of axial and radial forces and solutions to its settlement.
11.Pump production, typing of pumps, pump measurement and testing
12.Basic pump types HD and their field of application
13.Numerical pump flow calculation
