Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
To teach the students the advanced tasks and methods applied for the solution of strength and elasticity (i.e. mechanics of materials). To ensure the understanding of teaching problems. To apply the gained skills in practice.

Summary
Předmět rozšiřuje základní znalosti pružnosti a pevnosti. Seznamuje s výpočty
napěťově-deformačních stavů a se způsoby dimenzování základních tvarů strojních
částí namáhaných staticky. Podává přehled o výpočtech strojních součásti v
oblasti creepových namáhání. Předmět dále seznamuje s výpočty smykových napětí
při ohybu, zabývá se dimenzováním při kombinovaném namáhání. Probírá stabilitu
přímých prutů, hodnotí únosnost tenkostěnných a tlustostěnných nádob, rotujících
kotoučů a rotačně symetrických desek. Seznamuje se základy matematické teorie
pružnosti
