To teach students the basic procedures for solving some technical problems of the continuum mechanics. To ensure understanding of such teaching problems. To learn our students to apply of theoretical knowledge in praxis.

Definition of deformation and stress, crossection method, experiment of tension, Hook´s law, Poisson´s law, influence of own weight, static indeterminate problems Stress and deformation analysis at point of body, Condition of strength at multiaxial stress Shear and torsion plane bending of beams, Shear forces and bending moments, stress evaluations, Moment of inertia, bending strain, nonlinear beams, static indeterminate beams Buckling of linear beams Combined loading Curved beams, deformation and stress analysis Thin walled vessel Fatigue of material
