The aim of the course is to teach students practical skills when performing diagnostic measurements using the available measuring and laboratory equipment.

Summary
The subject focuses on the practical aspect of technical diagnostics of machinery. The aim of this subject is to archieve the practical skills of the students during the practical measurements by the available techniques, their orientation in the given issue and the subsequent interpretation of the obtained results. The archieved skills are an integral part of the diagnostics basic knowledge.

Subject syllabus:
Lectures:
1. Introduction, methods of diagnostics, use of diagnostics in practice.
2. Vibrodiagnostics, basic relations, methods of vibro-diagnostics, fields of application.
3. Methods for balancing and setting, temperature compensation.
4. Acoustic diagnostics, basic relations, practical applications in the assessment of the effects of vibrations and noise on the machinery and the human body, reduction of noise levels.
5. Tribodiagnostics, standard methods for evaluation of degradation of fuels and lubricants.
6. Advanced methods in analyzing the technical state of wear of machinery.
7. Lubricants, types, uses, methods for evaluation of greases, practical examples.
8. Thermodiagnostics, basic relations, touch and non-contact temperature measurement, infrared radiation, FOV, IFOV, standards for evaluation, IR thermographic cameras.
9. Thermodiagnostics, methods of measurement of reflected apparent temperature and emissivity, measurement issues, practical evaluation of IR thermo images.
10. Resonance of machinery, speeches, measuring devices, practical cases and removal possibilities.
11. Multiparametric diagnostics for diagnostics of machine tools.
12. Non-destructive testing, methods of visual, capillary, ultrasound, eddy currents, advanced methods.
13. Electro-diagnostics, methods of measurement, interpretation of results, practical applications.
14. Standards, technical procedures, principles for processing diagnostic messages.
