To deepen and broaden knowledge and an overview of the development of design in the second. half of 20 century. on the basis of problem solving to gain additional skills in the field of industrial design.

Summary

Students will learn about other processes in product design and history at the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century. The subject follows Industrial Design I. Respecting the aesthetic, ergonomic, functional, technological, economic and environmental aspects, students continue in the solving of an industrial product design.

Subject syllabus:

• Basic methods of product design – Creating photorealistic visualizations (V-Ray software, Rhinoceros plugin) • Basic methods of product design – Modeling with Rapid Prototyping / CNC Milling Methods (Roland Modella Pro II MDX-540, Modeling Machine) • Grounding in graphic design – Creating posters • Solving of product design • Industrial design evaluation criteria — • The design of the 1980s – Memphis / Post-modernism in the 1980s • The design of the 1980s – High-tech and onset of computers • The design of the 1990s – Less ostentation, more responsibility / Synthesis of antagonist principies • The beginning of the 21st century – Challenge of new technologies and materials / Utopia versus reality

Mandatory attendence participation: Attendance at lectures is recommended. The scope of compulsory participation in exercises is set at 80%.

Conditions for subject completion and attendance at the exercises within ISP: As part of completing the course, the conditions are considered to be met by submitting semester assignments (e.g. sketches, virtual 3D models, research, reports, etc.), which included periodic face-to-face consultations, and taking the exam, while the point evaluation of the credit and exam result corresponds to min. classification level E (ECTS class. scale), respectively class. grade 3 (national class. scale).
