Summary

The course deals with the movement of missiles in the atmosphere, the firing system error, measurements in external ballistics theory and small-arms fire. Concepts: Trajectory, range, shooting accuracy, speed projectiles scattering paths missiles, missile flight stabilization, shooting elements.

Recommended literature:

Farrar, C. L. Military Ballistics. Oxford: Brassey´s Publishers Limited, 1993.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Tests and semestral project. Written and oral exam.

Subject syllabus:

Introduction, basic concepts. The atmosphere in the external ballistics. Model missiles in contrary motion environment. Calculation of the trajectory. Stabilization of missiles. Shooting System Error (systematic and random errors shot). Measurements in external ballistics (velocity of the bullet trajectory and dispersion). Theory of small-arms fire. Transition ballistics.
