Přednáškový cyklus navazuje na Dějiny designu II. Historický exkurz je na jedné straně vymezen počátkem 50. let 20. století a na té druhé počátkem 21. století. Významné směry, významné osobnosti a významná díla v rámci neustálých střetů mezi modernistickým a antimodernistickým pojetím.
