Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of education in the subject is knowledge, understanding and analysis, of basic principles of waste metal treatment and design-construction design of machines and equipment for cutting, baling, shredding, briquetting, transport and sorting of scrap metal.

Summary

Students in the subject will learn about the way to use and processing of metal waste and about various technologies of its treatment, so as to be possible this metal further use and recycle. The basic technology of scrap metal treatment is primarily material division (cutting, burning, division in other ways), baling, shredding and briquetting. In addition, students become familiar with the requirements for these technologies based on the options for facilities remelting scrap metal.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Continuous control of knowledge by individually assigned tasks, control questions and final test. A semestral project is applied, which allows additional time burden outside direct teaching. Knowledge is verified by an oral exam.

Subject syllabus:

1. Framework legislation, waste management, collection yards. 2. Metal waste as secondary raw material. 3. Sources appearance metal waste and requirements at its arrengement. 4. Technologies for waste heat treatment. 5. Particular technologies arrengement metal waste. 6. Design solution plants on arrengement metal waste. 7. Mechanical arrengement metal waste baling. 8. Theory baling. Construction and calculation parameters baling press. 9. Arrangement after dividing metal waste cutting and breaking. 10. Theory shearing, construction shears and arrange for charging shears. 11. Construction arrangement for dispatching and sorting cut out waste. 12. Construction arrangement for crushing and sorting metal waste and metal chippings. 13. Arrangement on arrengement and processing metal chippings, briquetting press and lines. 14. Mobile systems for processing metal waste. Examples of structural design.
