Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The goal is to teach students to apply various machine elements and groups to mechanical mechanisms, including the necessary calculations and the operational aspects of foundation design, installation and operation meet.

Summary

Students will be acquainted with the principles of design and application of specific machine components to machine units. They will learn how to analyse the conditions of forces acting on machine parts and constructions as a result of technology use. Furthermore, they will deepen their knowledge of the design of main multi-component parts of machines and calculation techniques used.

The regular practice of processing the given calculations of machine parts and their control. Provision of credit is the processing and presentation individually assigned topic of machine parts.

Subject syllabus:

1. Methodical procedures in solving design tasks - the role of the designer, setting requirements, effective design solutions, research work. 2. Variant design, teamwork and critical evaluation. 3. Technological design - requirements, main stages influencing the designer, product evaluation. 4. Design with regard to economics - labor and overhead costs, aspects of labor, machining, assembly, choice of type of semi-finished product, surface treatment, material and tolerance. 5. Design with regard to the technological design - forgings, castings and weldments. Rotating and non-rotating components. 6. Design with regard to manual assembly - efficiency and evaluation of assembly, rules for assembly. Influences on handling times (symmetry, thickness, weight), two-handed handling, gripping and inserting. 7. Methods of mounting bearings on shafts and in housings - rolling bearings, plain bearings, effects on shafts. Disassembly of bearings. Bearing failures. 8. Electric motors and their application - types, characteristics, suitability for use, design of drive motor, multi-motor drives. 9. Gearboxes and their application - types, suitability for use. Simple planetary gearbox, principle, conditions of functionality. Differential. 10. Shaft couplings and their application - types, use, design. 11. Parametric design of machine parts and mechanisms in CAD systems. 12. Use of design applications in the design of machine parts and mechanisms. 13. Use of additive technologies in the construction of simple machine parts. 14. Use of 3D scanning and processing of data files in construction.
